About

About Canna Euro Consulting.Inside the industry, outside the hype.

A European cannabis and cannabinoid consultancy led by an operator — practical experience in retail, genetics, production, brands and market entry rather than theory.

Dark architectural interior, editorial abstract visual

Cannabis is an industry.Building a cannabis business is something else.

Strategy is easy to discuss from the outside.

We've spent years dealing with the products, customers, suppliers, regulation, operations and commercial decisions that determine whether a cannabis business actually works.

Practical advice built from experience, not theory alone.

Before founding Canna Euro Consulting, Jirko Väisänen built and operated cannabis-related businesses in European markets, including a Finnish-founded cannabis social club in Spain. His experience spans cannabis retail, product development, cultivation, distribution and market development. Read more on Jirko Väisänen on LinkedIn.

That operating background feeds into our European Market Entry, Market Intelligence, Business Strategy and Product Development work.

01

Background

I came into cannabis as an operator, not an analyst. The first decisions I made in this industry were about products, suppliers, customers and cash — not about frameworks.

More than a decade later, that is still how I think about the business.

02

Experience

Retail, genetics and seeds, cannabinoid product development, branding, e-commerce, operations and international expansion.

The common thread is execution: getting a product defined, sourced, positioned, sold and supported inside a regulated environment.

03

Businesses

I currently serve as COO of a European cannabis-focused retail business spanning headshop, growshop and seedbank operations.

I am also one of the founders of a separate THC-free hemp and cannabinoid company, where I lead and oversee product development and product manufacturing. The business focuses on THC-free hemp flower, CBD, CBG and CBN products, vapes and other cannabinoid-based product concepts.

The company was founded around specialist knowledge and practical expertise in cannabinoid products, formulation, sourcing, production and product development. My expertise is what enabled the company to develop its product portfolio and manufacturing capability, and I am responsible for turning that technical and commercial knowledge into finished, market-ready products.

Earlier in my career, I founded, owned and operated businesses across cannabis retail, CBD, hospitality and related markets. My experience spans retail, seedbank and genetics, cultivation and production, cannabinoid product development, branding, e-commerce, operations, commercial strategy and international markets.

I do not approach the cannabis industry as an outside consultant. I have built and operated businesses within it, made product and investment decisions, managed suppliers and partners, developed products from concept to production, and dealt firsthand with the commercial and regulatory realities of the market.

That operator experience is the foundation of Canna Euro Consulting.

04

Markets

My market experience is European, with exposure to how differently the same category behaves across jurisdictions.

What is normal in one market is unworkable in the next. That gap is where most expansion plans quietly fail.

05

Expertise

Market entry, business model design, product and portfolio strategy, brand positioning, cannabinoid product development, supply chain and supplier networks, commercial operations and scaling.

Regulatory work here is commercial interpretation — what is possible and where the workable ground sits. It is not legal advice.

06

Approach

Understand the business first. Be honest about what the market allows. Recommend what can be executed with the resources actually available.

Short documents, clear decisions, and support once the work moves into operation.

See how that experience is applied in our cannabis consulting services and our view of European cannabis markets.

Why Canna Euro Consulting

Why operator experience matters in cannabis.

Cannabis is not a normal industry.

Regulation changes. Markets move quickly. Products fail for reasons that aren't obvious from a spreadsheet. Consumer behaviour differs dramatically between markets. And companies entering the sector often underestimate the operational complexity.

Our approach combines strategic thinking with first-hand industry experience.

That means recommendations are built around what can actually work — commercially, operationally and within the relevant regulatory environment.

Operator Perspective
Advice informed by actual experience building and operating cannabis businesses.
Commercial First
We look beyond regulation to customers, channels, pricing and commercial viability.
European Focus
Market-entry strategy built around the commercial and regulatory realities of individual European markets.
Execution Mindset
Recommendations are shaped by what can be implemented through products, suppliers, distribution and day-to-day operations.

From idea to operation

We understand what happens after the strategy deck.

Because we've been there.

Scope

I don't sell generic consulting.

  • No recycled PowerPoints.

  • No generic market reports.

  • No pretending cannabis works like a conventional FMCG market.

  • No strategy disconnected from execution.

If the problem requires specialist expertise outside our scope, we say so.

Confidentiality

Discretion matters.

Cannabis remains a highly sensitive business environment.

We understand the importance of confidentiality, discretion and careful communication when working with founders, investors, manufacturers and international partners.

We don't approach cannabis from a distance.

Our experience spans cultivation, genetics, product development, retail, international markets, branding and regulated cannabinoid businesses.

That means our advice is grounded in what actually happens when strategy meets reality.

We work with companies navigating one of the world's most complex emerging industries — where regulation, product development, branding, cultivation and market access intersect.
